Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during exams, bracket placements, and adjustments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, keeping treatment rooms ready for every patient
- Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and orthodontic records
- Educate patients and families on braces care, aligners, and oral hygiene
- Maintain detailed patient charts and document treatments accurately
- Keep the practice running smoothly with organized supplies and a welcoming patient flow
Qualifications
- Orthodontic certification required
- Dental assistant certification or completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Radiology/X-ray certification as required for dental assistants
- Experience in orthodontics is a big plus
- Strong commitment to patient safety, comfort, and high-quality care
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of orthodontic instruments, wires, brackets, and procedures
- Understanding of sterilization, infection control, and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and parents
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, collaborative dental setting
- Comfort with dental practice management software
