Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, individualized nursing care that helps residents feel safe, heard, and respected
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor residents for changes in condition
- Work with physicians, therapists, and nursing assistants to create and update care plans
- Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly and thoroughly
- Advocate for each resident's health, dignity, and quality of life
- Support and guide certified nursing assistants as part of the daily care team
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license in Maryland or a valid compact state license in good standing
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain before starting
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting is a plus
- Must meet the facility's vaccination requirements or have an approved exemption
- Must bring a government-issued ID and wear a photo badge at all times
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment, observation, and critical thinking skills
- Clear, warm communication with residents, families, and teammates
- Ability to stay calm, adaptable, and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort with electronic health records and nursing documentation
- Genuine empathy, patience, and respect for older adults
