Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments and periodontal screenings to identify oral health issues early.
- Deliver gentle, thorough cleanings including scaling and root planing to keep smiles healthy.
- Capture and evaluate dental X-rays, pointing out findings to support diagnosis.
- Apply preventive treatments like fluoride and sealants to help patients avoid decay.
- Empower patients with personalized oral hygiene education and practical home-care tips.
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring instruments and treatment areas are sterile and ready.
Qualifications
- Must hold an active Dental Hygienist license in Pennsylvania (PA).
- Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
- A diploma or degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Strong clinical skills with X-ray certification accepted in the state.
- A compassionate approach and ability to connect with a diverse range of patients.
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of dental anatomy, periodontal disease processes, and oral pathology.
- Experience using dental practice management software and digital radiography.
- Exceptional communication skills to explain procedures and educate patients.
- Understanding of infection control and OSHA standards to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to collaborate smoothly with dentists and other team members.
