Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patient treatment rooms and ensure all dental instruments are properly sterilized and organized
• Assist the dentist during procedures by skillfully passing instruments and maintaining a clear field of vision
• Take and develop dental x-rays using proper safety protocols to keep patients comfortable
• Provide warm, compassionate chairside support to help patients feel at ease
• Accurately document treatment details and assist in updating patient records
• Reinforce oral hygiene instructions and post-treatment care recommendations with patients

Qualifications

• A warm, patient-first attitude with excellent communication skills
• Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred; formal training or a diploma from an accredited dental assisting program is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• New York radiography (x-ray) certification or willingness to obtain it
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dental environment while keeping a positive, team-oriented mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of dental terminology and chairside assisting techniques
• Comfort with dental software and patient management systems
• Understanding of infection control practices and OSHA standards
• Skill in anticipating the dentist's needs and assisting without needing direction
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
