Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during patient exams and procedures
- Prepare sterilization trays and ensure instruments are ready
- Take and process dental radiographs with precision
- Help fit and adjust braces, wires, and other orthodontic appliances
- Educate patients on oral care and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment
Qualifications
- Orthodontic assistant certification required (must be ortho certified)
- Maryland state certification or compliance (as applicable)
- Experience working in a dental or orthodontic setting
- Comfort with dental software and digital imaging systems
- A compassionate and patient-first attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and equipment
- Understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols
- Skill in taking impressions and radiographs
- Strong communication with patients and team members
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced office
