Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during patient procedures, keeping everything running smoothly
- Prepare operatories and instruments for each patient, following strict infection control standards
- Take intraoral scans, impressions, and digital X-rays for treatment planning
- Educate patients and their families about orthodontic appliances and daily care routines
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all orthodontic supplies are stocked and ready
- Provide exceptional patient care in a warm, welcoming environment from check-in to checkout
Qualifications
- Certified Orthodontic Dental Assistant with an active orthodontic assistant certificate required
- Dental assisting experience in orthodontics is a plus; we are happy to meet you if you have your ortho certification
- Outstanding communication skills and a caring, professional chairside manner
- Ability to work collaboratively with the dental team and stay organized in a busy practice
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and dental materials
- Familiarity with digital radiography and dental practice software
- Strong infection control and sterilization practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills for educating patients and families
- Attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical setting
