Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during braces adjustments, retainers, and other procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments are properly sterilized
- Take digital X-rays and intraoral scans as directed
- Educate patients on braces care, oral hygiene, and treatment plans
- Document patient treatment accurately in Denticon software
- Help manage supplies and maintain a clean, organized office
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent training
- Current Maryland dental assistant registration or licensure as required
- Certification in dental radiography
- BLS/CPR certification
- Prior orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
- A friendly, professional, and patient-centered attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of chairside assisting and sterilization procedures
- Familiarity with orthodontic tools and techniques
- Experience with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
- Strong communication skills to connect with patients of all ages
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
