Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during braces adjustments, retainers, and other procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments are properly sterilized
• Take digital X-rays and intraoral scans as directed
• Educate patients on braces care, oral hygiene, and treatment plans
• Document patient treatment accurately in Denticon software
• Help manage supplies and maintain a clean, organized office

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent training
• Current Maryland dental assistant registration or licensure as required
• Certification in dental radiography
• BLS/CPR certification
• Prior orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• A friendly, professional, and patient-centered attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of chairside assisting and sterilization procedures
• Familiarity with orthodontic tools and techniques
• Experience with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
• Strong communication skills to connect with patients of all ages
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
