Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist pediatric dentists during examinations and procedures, creating a calm and positive experience for young patients
- Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms and dental instruments to maintain a clean, safe environment
- Take and develop digital x-rays accurately, helping the dentist diagnose and treat with confidence
- Educate children and their families on proper oral hygiene habits in a fun, encouraging way
- Maintain detailed patient records and help with scheduling, ensuring every visit runs smoothly
- Support the dental team by managing inventory and supplies so you are always ready to provide top-notch care
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- CPR/BLS certification
- Radiography/x-ray certification (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience in pediatric dentistry or a strong comfort working with children
- A positive, patient-focused attitude and genuine love for helping kids smile
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent communication skills to connect with children, parents, and the dental team
- Strong understanding of dental instruments, sterilization protocols, and OSHA guidelines
- Comfortable with digital dental software and record-keeping
- Careful attention to detail when assisting with procedures and updating charts
- Patience, empathy, and a cheerful demeanor even during busy clinic hours
