Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to maintain a safe environment
- Take and process dental X-rays, positioning patients for optimal imaging
- Provide patients with clear instructions on braces care and oral hygiene
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes
- Support the clinical team with inventory management and administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) preferred, or successful completion of a dental assisting program
- Current radiology (X-ray) certification or the ability to obtain one
- Experience in orthodontics is a valued bonus
- Gentle, caring demeanor with excellent patient communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced dental setting
- Comfort with dental software and digital record keeping
