Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside with braces, aligners, and other orthodontic procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments to ensure a safe, comfortable environment
• Take digital X-rays, intraoral scans, and impressions accurately
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and caring for their orthodontic appliances
• Maintain thorough patient records and help the appointment flow smoothly

Qualifications

• Eligible to work as a dental assistant in Maryland, with any required certification or licensure
• X-ray certification for dental radiography is a plus
• Prior dental assisting experience preferred, especially in orthodontics
• Solid patient communication skills and a caring, professional chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with preparing and disinfecting dental instruments
• Ability to take high-quality dental X-rays and scans
• Familiarity with digital charting and patient records
• Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
• A warm, reassuring approach that helps patients feel at ease
