Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily living assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Help residents with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics to ensure safety
• Measure and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Serve meals and assist residents who need help eating while encouraging independence
• Engage residents in conversation and activities to promote social and emotional well-being
• Keep resident rooms and common areas clean, tidy, and stocked with essentials

Qualifications

• Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
• Must meet facility vaccination requirements, including COVID-19 or have an approved exemption

Knowledge & Skills

• Genuine compassion and patience when caring for older adults
• Clear communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and staff
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative care team
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist with resident transfers
• Understanding of HIPAA and resident rights
