Location: Lanham, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), Nights, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents during night shifts
Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
Monitor and document resident status and vital signs accurately
Communicate changes in condition to nursing staff promptly and clearly
Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
Support restorative and rehabilitative activities as directed by the care team
Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Completion of a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) program (Class: GNA)
Current certification/registration as required by Maryland for GNAs
Comfort working the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift on a per-diem basis
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Ability to pass standard background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

GNA program completion (Class: GNA)
High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Experience or familiarity with geriatric care and age-related needs
Competence in assisting with ADLs and mobility support
Basic vital signs monitoring and documentation skills
Good infection control and safety practice knowledge
Teamwork mindset and effective communication with nursing staff
Reliable time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during night shifts
