Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem / Variable days, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to geriatric patients
- Monitor and document patient condition, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
- Help with safe transfers and use of mobility aids to prevent falls and injuries
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to maintain a clean care environment
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to work overnight shifts and flexible per-diem schedule
- Current state-required immunizations and clear background check
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in geriatric personal care and basic clinical observations
- Knowledge of ADLs, safe patient handling, and fall prevention
- Proficient at clear, accurate documentation and charting
- Able to follow care plans and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Compassionate interpersonal skills for working with older adults and families
