Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to geriatric residents, preserving dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs and behavior, to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records to ensure continuity of care
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention by assisting with transfers and ambulation
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, family members, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment to promote resident well-being

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) in the state of Maryland or equivalent credential
• CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is preferred
• Ability to work night shifts, including flexibility for per diem scheduling
• Strong observational skills, reliability, and a compassionate bedside manner
• Proof of required immunizations and background checks as per facility policy

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs and common age-related conditions
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfer techniques
• Infection control practices and safe hygiene procedures
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for documentation and teamwork
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes accurately and promptly
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care setting
