Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to geriatric patients
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and observing behavior
- Document care accurately and clearly in the facility record
- Collaborate with the care team and communicate with families to support resident needs
Qualifications
- Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification recommended or preferred where applicable
- Demonstrated compassion and experience working with older adults preferred
- Ability to follow care plans and communicate effectively with team members
- Reliable, punctual, and able to pass facility-required background and health checks
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
- Knowledge of infection control and safe care practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to document care clearly and accurately
- Empathy, patience, and a positive, resident-focused attitude
