Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, supporting their comfort and dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions to the nursing team
• Help residents with mobility, transfers, and repositioning using safe techniques
• Engage residents in meaningful conversations and activities to promote emotional well-being
• Document care provided accurately and timely
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff

Qualifications

• Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
• Completed COVID-19 vaccine or documented medical/religious exemption
• Ability to provide state or federal issued identification and wear a photo badge
• A genuine passion for caring for older adults
• Ability to work effectively as part of a nursing team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and safety protocols
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy and patience when supporting residents with varying needs
• Basic computer skills for documentation
• Understanding of infection control practices
• Ability to follow care plans and report observations accurately
