Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)
Location: Waldorf, Maryland
Start Date: 09-07-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Shift 2, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (30-minute meal break)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, supporting their comfort and dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions to the nursing team
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, and repositioning using safe techniques
- Engage residents in meaningful conversations and activities to promote emotional well-being
- Document care provided accurately and timely
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
- Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
- Completed COVID-19 vaccine or documented medical/religious exemption
- Ability to provide state or federal issued identification and wear a photo badge
- A genuine passion for caring for older adults
- Ability to work effectively as part of a nursing team
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and safety protocols
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and patience when supporting residents with varying needs
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Understanding of infection control practices
- Ability to follow care plans and report observations accurately
