Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Help residents move safely with transfers and mobility support
• Take and record vital signs, then communicate any changes to the nursing team
• Respond promptly to call lights and keep residents comfortable and safe
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents
• Document care accurately and maintain a clean, welcoming environment

Qualifications

• Current Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification
• A genuine passion for caring for older adults
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
• Must bring a valid state or federal ID and wear a photo badge at all times
• COVID-19 vaccination or a documented religious/medical exemption, plus any legally required additional doses
• Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and daily resident care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of personal care techniques and safety practices
• Ability to observe and report resident condition changes
• Strong communication skills with residents, families, and staff
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
• Good time management and thorough documentation habits
