Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as-needed), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents as a certified GNA
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor resident condition and promptly report any changes to nursing staff
Document care accurately and maintain timely records
Support residents' emotional wellbeing through friendly interaction and meaningful engagement
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to follow individualized care plans

Qualifications

Valid GNA certification (required)
High school diploma or GED (required)
Current CPR/AED certification preferred or as required by facility
Experience in geriatric or long-term care settings is a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements

Education

High school diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic clinical observations
Skill in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Familiarity with infection control practices and documentation standards
Ability to follow care plans and report changes accurately
Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
