Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents and support their dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Support mealtimes, nutrition needs, and safe feeding practices
• Help create a welcoming, safe environment and engage residents in meaningful activities

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• State-required licensure and background checks completed and current
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a patient, resident-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of a GNA training program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and ADL assistance
• Safe transfer and mobility support techniques
• Basic infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Accurate charting and documentation skills
• Teamwork and effective communication with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
