Location: Baltimore, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Days not specified, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and behavioral changes
Follow individualized care plans and report any changes to the nursing team
Support safe mobility and transfer techniques, using proper body mechanics
Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and team members
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent — required or in-state equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Previous experience in geriatric care or long-term care is a plus, but compassionate newcomers are welcome
Ability to pass facility onboarding checks and background screening
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered support
Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, documenting observations, following care plans
Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
