Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for a variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, and general surgery
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during cases such as knee scopes, ACL repairs, rotator cuff repairs, cataracts, and total joints
• Assist with patient positioning and utilize advanced equipment like Stryker towers, Hana table, and Alcon constellation/centurion systems
• Ensure all surgical instruments are properly sterilized, organized, and functioning, including power tools and scopes
• Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a safe, efficient, and positive environment for patients and staff
• Support the instrument room to keep inventory ready and accessible for upcoming cases

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Active BLS certification required
• Active NBSTA certification required
• Active DORA registration/certification required
• Orthopedic experience (ACLs, RCRs, knee scopes) and total joints preferred
• ENT experience (septoplasty, SMR, T&A, stapedectomy) or instrument room experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique
• Familiarity with orthopedic, ENT, general surgery, and ophthalmology procedures
• Experience with Stryker power tools, scopes, Hana table, and Alcon systems
• Ability to assist with total joint replacements and complex surgical cases
• Understanding of OR safety protocols and infection control
• Team player with a positive attitude and reliable nature
