Location: Plantation, Florida

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating shifts with on-call requirements, approximately every other day and every other weekend

Candidate Pay Rate: $80 - $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons before, during, and after complex open heart procedures with precision and care
Scrub in for CABG, MVR, AVR, pacemaker insertions, and laser lead extractions
Support minimally invasive cardiac procedures including TVAR and mitral clip standbys
Provide lunch relief coverage across multiple specialties including vascular, robotics, and neuro/spine
Prepare and maintain specialized open heart instrumentation and supplies
Collaborate with RNs and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient outcomes

Qualifications

Current BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years recent experience in acute CVOR setting
Proven ability to scrub assist in open heart cases
Certified Surgical Technologist credential preferred
Experience with open heart instrumentation and cardiac procedures

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in cardiovascular surgical procedures and protocols
Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced cardiac surgery environments
Knowledge of minimally invasive cardiac procedures preferred
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
