Certified Nursing Assistant

Location: Gettysburg, PA

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night shift). Specific days not specified in the posting.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate observations during shift change
Help create a warm, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity
Assist with meal service and basic hygiene while encouraging independence

Qualifications

Current CNA certification in the applicable state (required)
CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
Up-to-date immunizations and TB test per facility policy
Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
Comfortable working night shift hours and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team
Strong communication skills and empathy for older adults and their families

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current state certification

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with ADLs, basic patient care, and infection control practices
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Basic charting and documentation skills
Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
