Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, compassionate bedside care to residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and ambulation, following facility protocols
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient chart or electronic system
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent care
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for patients and families

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
• Active placement on the Alabama CNA registry or ability to transfer/obtain state registry
• Basic patient care experience preferred; per diem roles welcome for both new and experienced CNAs
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain per facility requirement
• Ability to pass facility background checks, drug screen, and meet immunization requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and care teams
• Comfortable with ADLs, vital signs, and basic patient observation
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
• Understanding of patient safety, infection control, and HIPAA basics
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently on per diem shifts
