Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, injections and child immunizations accurately and compassionately
• Conduct lab tests and assist with specimen handling within MA scope
• Assist the physician during examinations and procedures, including vital signs assessment
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies are stocked and equipment is clean
• Document patient encounters, referrals and lab slips clearly in the medical record
• Answer and triage patient phone calls as directed, providing clear instructions
• Support patients getting to and from exam rooms and preparing for exams and treatments
• Collaborate with nursing staff, clinical coordinator and manager to deliver quality care

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (must maintain MA certification) — REQUIRED
• BLS (AHA) certification — REQUIRED (documentation requested)
• At least 2 years of formal Medical Assistant curriculum/training — REQUIRED
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting — REQUIRED
• LPNs are also welcome to apply
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment with emotional stability and discretion

Education

• At least 2 years in a formal Medical Assistant curriculum (required)
• Completion of Medical Assistant certification program (must maintain certification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven phlebotomy skills and experience with blood draws
• Competence in taking vital signs and basic patient assessments
• Experience with injections, immunizations and routine lab testing
• Skilled in assisting physicians during exams and clinical procedures
• Accurate medical record documentation and completing referral/lab forms
• Strong patient communication and ability to provide clear instructions
• Supply requisition and room stocking to keep clinics running smoothly
• Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to support varied clinical tasks
