Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered labor and delivery care to support families through childbirth
• Deliver seamless couplet care across L&D, OR, PACU, and postpartum to ensure safe transitions for mom and baby
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and interpret fetal heart tracings using evidence-based practices
• Stabilize newborns rapidly at the bedside using NRP and STABLE protocols
• Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and interdisciplinary teams to create family-focused care plans
• Document care precisely and communicate clearly with families to support informed decision-making
• Lead calm, effective care during high-pressure situations to keep moms and babies safe
• Champion continuous quality improvement and contribute to a positive, team-first unit culture

Qualifications

• Active Colorado RN license or active multistate compact license required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Demonstrated Labor & Delivery clinical experience required; prior travel experience is a plus
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and STABLE
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts with rotating weekends and occasional on-call
• Strong teamwork, clear communication, and crisis management skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) - required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Evidence-based fetal heart rate monitoring and interpretation
• Labor progress assessment and hands-on intrapartum care
• Newborn stabilization and neonatal resuscitation using NRP and STABLE
• Couplet care principles and postpartum assessment
• Comfort and experience in OR and PACU obstetric settings
• Accurate documentation and family-centered communication
• Calm coordination of interdisciplinary care in high-pressure situations
