Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Days, 8 and 12 hour shifts, Monday-Friday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on physical evaluations and operative reports
Develop and coordinate personalized care plans using knowledge of anesthetics and post-op needs
Initiate vital interventions like maintaining airways and oxygen levels while managing pain effectively
Collaborate seamlessly with patients, families, physicians, and team members for optimal outcomes
Continuously evaluate progress toward discharge and ensure safe handoffs to receiving units
Stay ahead with ongoing education in post-anesthesia nursing trends and competencies

Qualifications

Current Pennsylvania RN licensure
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from American Heart Association
Completion of an accredited registered nurse program
Previous PACU and Critical Care experience preferred

Education

Completion of an accredited registered nurse program

Knowledge & Skills

PACU nursing and Post Anesthesia Care expertise
Strong nursing process including patient assessment
Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication
Team collaboration and harmonious interpersonal skills
High emotional tolerance, tact, and professional judgment
