Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and recovery
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs closely and act decisively on clinical changes
• Assist physicians and midwives during procedures and deliveries to support safe outcomes
• Deliver clear, empowering childbirth and lactation education to patients and families
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately and promptly
• Advocate for patients and provide emotional support throughout the childbirth process
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate safe, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado or eligibility to obtain Colorado licensure
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
• Preferably 1+ year of experience in Labor & Delivery or maternal-newborn care
• Comfortable with fetal monitoring, maternal assessments, and assisting with deliveries
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and delivery nursing practices and maternal-newborn care
• Fetal monitoring and maternal assessment techniques
• Vital signs monitoring and rapid clinical assessment
• Assisting with medical procedures while maintaining patient safety
• Childbirth and lactation education strategies
• Accurate clinical documentation and interdisciplinary care coordination
• Emotional support and patient advocacy during high-stress moments
