Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered acute dialysis care in both the hemodialysis suite and ICU
• Assess and monitor patients with ESRD and acute renal failure, adjusting care plans as needed
• Operate, troubleshoot, and safely manage hemodialysis equipment and treatments
• Deliver one-to-one and two-to-one nursing during treatments while maintaining standards of safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, transfers, and critical interventions
• Accurately document patient care using MEDITECH and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure vascular access is managed and protected
• Participate in patient/family education to support understanding of dialysis treatments

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care dialysis experience
• BLS (AHA) current
• ACLS (AHA) current
• NIHSS certification noted
• Strong acute dialysis nursing competencies and comfort in ICU settings
• Experience with MEDITECH charting is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in acute hemodialysis and dialysis protocols
• Comfort managing critically ill patients in ICU settings
• Vascular access care and assessment skills
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot dialysis machines and related equipment
• Strong patient assessment, monitoring, and critical thinking skills
• Proficient documentation and electronic charting (MEDITECH)
• Clear communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary teams
• Infection control and safety-focused practices
