Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile instrumentation and supplies for surgical procedures
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and anticipating surgeon needs
• Ensure strict adherence to sterile technique and infection-control policies
• Set up surgical rooms and verify appropriate equipment function prior to cases
• Prepare specimens for lab transfer and accurately document perioperative information
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and sterile processing to deliver safe patient care
• Participate in orientation and ongoing competency validation to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience in the operating room is a plus — orientation is provided
• Ability to follow sterile technique and OR protocols consistently
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
• Valid state credentials or ability to obtain licensure in Washington if required

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with surgical instruments, sterile trays, and OR setup
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection prevention standards
• Comfort working in fast-paced, team-driven surgical environments
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail for perioperative records
• Ability to anticipate provider needs and prioritize tasks under pressure
