Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by assembling instruments, supplies and sterile drapes
• Provide skilled intraoperative assistance to surgeons during a variety of procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and patient safety throughout surgical cases
• Perform instrument counts and ensure accurate handling of surgical specimens
• Anticipate surgeon needs and proactively prepare instruments and equipment
• Communicate clearly with the surgical team to support efficient, high-quality care
• Assist with room turnover and maintain operating room cleanliness and readiness

Qualifications

• CST certification (required)
• ORT/Operating Room experience (specialty: CST/ORT - OR)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in the OR
• Ability to work the posted daytime shift (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM) and adapt quickly to new teams
• Active professional credentials and ability to meet hospital onboarding requirements

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Proficient in setup and breakdown of the operating room for multiple specialties
• Skilled at instrument and sponge counts and specimen handling
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced OR environments
• Familiarity with perioperative safety protocols and infection control
