Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans that target functional goals and measurable progress
• Deliver engaging therapy sessions tailored to each patient’s needs and abilities
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and family members to coordinate care
• Document patient progress and maintain timely, accurate records in the electronic health record
• Provide education and training to caregivers and staff to support carryover of skills
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute clinical insights to treatment planning
• Maintain professional growth through ongoing learning and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Active MA state SLP license or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• ASHA CCC-SLP strongly preferred or comparable certification
• Comfortable conducting evaluations and therapy for a range of diagnoses, including dysphagia
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork and family education
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with standardized and criterion-referenced assessment tools
• Skilled in developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Experience with dysphagia evaluation and management, including instrumental assessments when applicable
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication strategies
• Competent documentation skills in electronic health record systems
• Ability to adapt therapy to different ages and levels of function
• Strong time management and caseload prioritization abilities
