Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate respiratory care to patients of all ages in a hospital setting
Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for critically ill patients
Administer aerosolized medications and breathing treatments as ordered
Perform pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas draws, and airway management
Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop and adjust care plans
Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care strategies

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Therapist license in New York (or willingness to obtain)
BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be from AHA)
EPIC electronic health record proficiency preferred
Minimum 1-2 years of recent acute care experience is a plus
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of respiratory therapy modalities and equipment
Skilled in ventilator management, weaning protocols, and patient assessment
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
Excellent patient education and interpersonal skills
Proficient in electronic charting and documentation
