Echo Sonographer - Cardiology

Location: York, ME

Start Date: 07-20-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday - Friday b/t 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; with weekend call required, 1 on 4 off, Sat and Sun from 8 am to 12:00 pm.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare patients and diagnostic equipment for echocardiography procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
Explain procedures to patients, answering questions to alleviate concerns
Obtain high-quality images using Transthoracic Echo, Stress Echo, and TEE modalities
Assist physicians in interpreting imaging data to support accurate diagnoses
Maintain accurate records and archive studies according to protocols
Collaborate with cardiology team to coordinate patient care and optimize workflow

Qualifications

Must be proficient in all adult echocardiography modalities: TTE, Stress Echo, TEE
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS or RCS) through ARDMS or CCI (registry required within 1 year)
Current BLS certification (or obtain within preliminary employment period)
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Echo Sonographer

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in echocardiography imaging techniques and equipment
Strong patient communication and education skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical setting
Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
