Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care to NICU patients, including premature infants under 32 weeks gestation
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula for critically ill patients
• Administer nebulized medications, perform chest physiotherapy, and obtain arterial blood gases
• Assist with bronchoscopy, intubation, and transport of mechanically ventilated patients to imaging or other departments
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the broader care team to develop and adjust treatment plans
• Respond quickly and calmly to respiratory emergencies in the unit

Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• At least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Adult respiratory experience in an acute care setting
• Neonatal intensive care experience, including care of premature infants
• Experience with ventilators, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and ABG analysis
• Critical care, ICU, or Emergency Department experience is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management (GE ventilators, V60 BiPAP)
• Nebulizer therapy and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and draws
• Inhaled nitric oxide therapy
• Bronchoscopy and intubation assistance
• Mechanical ventilation transport within the hospital
• Neonatal and premature infant respiratory care
• Critical care experience in ICU/ED
• Meditech EMR proficiency
