Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, family-centered critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support including BiPAP and high-flow O2
• Perform and assist with intubation/extubation and sedated procedures like MRI
• Titrate critical drips (sedation, vasoactive agents, paralytics) safely and accurately
• Continuously monitor telemetry (EKG/EEG) and respond promptly to changes
• Operate IV pumps (Alaris), feeding pumps (Kangaroo) and other specialized equipment
• Document care thoroughly in the EMR (Meditech/Pyxis) and communicate clear handoffs
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients' families during high-stress moments

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with PICU specialty experience
• Minimum of 1 year pediatric ICU nursing experience (must-have)
• Current ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Comfortable with ventilator management, intubation/extubation and titration of drips
• Experience with Meditech, Pyxis and Alaris IV pump preferred
• Ability to float to NICU, Nursery or OB/GYN areas if qualified
• Strong multitasking, prioritization and communication skills

• Titration of sedation, vasoactive and paralytic drips
• Telemetry monitoring (EKG/EEG) and interpretation
• IV pump operation (Alaris) and Kangaroo feeding pump use
• Electronic medical record proficiency (Meditech) and medication systems (Pyxis)
• Pediatric critical care workflows and 1:1–1:2 patient ratio management
• Family-centered care and clear interdisciplinary communication
