Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to PCU patients and their families
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status, recognizing and acting on changes quickly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following policy
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and update care plans
• Perform timely patient education and discharge planning to support recovery
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate clear handoffs at shift changes

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Kentucky or eligibility to obtain prior to start
• Minimum clinical experience in PCU or progressive care preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred when applicable
• Demonstrated ability to work nights and handle a fast-paced, acuity-driven environment
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry familiarity
• IV therapy and medication administration competence
• Assessment skills for moderate-to-high acuity patients
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients effectively
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
