Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, compassionate care to patients recovering from knee and hip replacements and multi-level spine surgeries
• Assess and monitor patient conditions including vitals, pain management, and surgical site status, adjusting care plans as needed
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, and unit navigators to coordinate seamless care from admission to discharge
• Educate patients and families on post-operative recovery, mobility, and home care instructions
• Document accurately in the Meditech system while working alongside skilled PCTs and unit secretaries
• Champion a positive patient experience by fostering a healing and supportive environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or a compact state
• At least 2 years of recent orthopedic nursing experience
• Experience caring for patients after spine surgeries and joint replacements
• Proficiency with Meditech documentation
• A compassionate team player with strong communication skills
• Ability to adapt to floating policy and rotating assignments as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of orthopedic and spine nursing best practices
• Skilled in using patient care equipment such as coolers, walkers, SCDs, and CPMs
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond quickly to patient needs
• Excellent patient education and family communication skills
• Ability to maintain accurate electronic health records in Meditech
• Team-oriented, empathetic, and dedicated to patient satisfaction
