Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety from pre-op through recovery
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CSTs and the perioperative team to deliver smooth, efficient surgical care
• Prepare the OR and surgical instruments, including robotic and specialty equipment when applicable
• Maintain sterile technique and rigorously follow infection control and patient safety protocols
• Document patient care accurately and promptly using Meditech EMR
• Support patient positioning, monitoring, and condition assessment throughout procedures
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and communicating clearly during handoffs

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure appropriate for the work location (state license or compact, as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (experience in OR/surgical settings preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Proven experience or familiarity with ortho/spine procedures and instrumentation (DaVinci, Mako, Globus, laparoscopic techniques a plus)
• Comfortable working with surgical equipment and Stryker systems
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems preferred

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN/ASN or BSN) and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative knowledge: pre-op, intra-op and immediate post-op care
• Instrument and procedural familiarity for orthopedic, spine and minimally invasive surgeries
• Proficiency with sterile technique and surgical asepsis
• Solid documentation skills in Meditech or comparable EMR
• Excellent teamwork, communication and adaptability in a fast-paced OR environment
• Ability to prioritize, anticipate surgeon needs, and maintain patient safety under pressure
