Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating day and evening shifts (varied days of week, includes weekends). Option: 4x10s — 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM; or 5x8s — 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM. On-call rotation: once a week and every fifth weekend.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room to ensure patient safety and maintain a sterile field
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to deliver seamless care
• Perform thorough pre-op and post-op assessments and document patient status clearly
• Manage supplies, instruments, and OR environment to support efficient procedures
• Respond to on-call assignments professionally and promptly when scheduled
• Advocate for patient comfort, dignity, and clear communication with families
• Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Vermont or eligibility for compact licensure
• Prior Operating Room/Circulator experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; perioperative certifications encouraged
• Comfort with rotating schedules, on-call duties, and weekend coverage
• Strong teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills in fast-paced surgical settings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative workflows
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR setup/turnover
• Strong patient assessment and documentation abilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to varied case types
