Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to neuro stepdown patients
• Monitor neurological status and intervene quickly when changes occur
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create personalized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments with precision and compassion
• Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures, and discharge care
• Document patient progress accurately and advocate for their needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact state
• Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
• Experience in stepdown, critical care, or neuro nursing preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Neurological assessment and monitoring
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Patient and family education
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Effective communication and collaboration
