Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to maintain a safe, hygienic environment
• Take and develop dental x-rays and impressions with precision and care
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic treatment
• Manage patient records, treatment plans, and appointments accurately
• Fabricate and adjust braces, retainers, and other orthodontic appliances

Qualifications

• Active Maryland dental assistant certification or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience in orthodontics is a plus, but a strong willingness to learn is essential
• Radiation Health and Safety certification or ability to get certified
• Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient-first approach
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Comfort with dental software and digital x-ray systems
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Empathy and a genuine passion for helping patients achieve healthy smiles
• Attention to infection control and safety protocols
