Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs, and report any changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support residents with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and assistive devices
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide emotional support to enhance their quality of life
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents, and document care provided accurately
• Collaborate with nurses and other team members to ensure comprehensive care and comfort

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification in Maryland
• COVID-19 vaccination or documented exemption as required
• Current identification (state or federal) to present at the facility
• Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including evenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care procedures and safety protocols
• Skills in taking and recording vital signs
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents with mobility needs
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Great teamwork and communication abilities
• Attention to detail in documentation
