Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Varied 12-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, with start times between 5:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Requires participation in on-call rotation: approximately 5 weekend shifts and 8 weeknight shifts per quarter, with 30-minute response time.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from total joint replacements, general surgery, da Vinci procedures, neurology, and urology surgeries
- Monitor vital signs, EKG rhythms, and assess patients' recovery from anesthesia, adjusting care plans as needed
- Manage 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios to ensure personalized attention and safety
- Collaborate with a dynamic team of anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nurses to ensure smooth transitions from OR to PACU
- Float between Main PACU and Outpatient Surgery Center (OPSC) as needed to support the team
- Provide education and support to patients and families during the recovery process
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (or compact state) - we need you ready to work
- 2+ years of acute recovery experience (PACU or critical care preferred)
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
- Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus
- Ability to interpret EKG strips and telemetry
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of post-anesthesia care and recovery protocols
- Skilled in EKG interpretation and telemetry monitoring
- Proficient with Cerner charting system
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Quick to adapt to varied start times and fast-paced environments
