Roles & Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
• Educate patients and their families to promote understanding and wellness
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care
• Respond quickly and effectively to patient crises and emergencies
• Float across Medical Care, Post Surgical, and Intermediate Care/PCU units as needed

Qualifications

• 2 years of Med Surg experience (required)
• Recent hospital experience within the past 5 years (required)
• Willingness to float between Medical Care, Post Surgical, and Intermediate Care/PCU units
• Oregon RN license (or willingness to obtain before start)
• Certifications not required at submission, but must be willing to obtain
• Up-to-date skills checklist (within 1 year)

• Strong nursing process skills for assessment, planning, and evaluation
• Patient education techniques to empower patients and families
• Accurate documentation practices
• Collaborative teamwork with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
• Emergency response capabilities for crisis situations
• Med Surg nursing expertise with adaptability to multiple units
