Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub in for complex cardiac surgeries in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) as the primary single scrub
• Provide surgical assistance across a variety of cases in the main OR including orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, urology, general, and gynecology
• Set up and maintain a sterile surgical field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for each procedure
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and pass instruments with precision and speed
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team to promote the best possible patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification via NBSTSA required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) is a must
• At least 2 years of surgical technology experience, with demonstrated proficiency in CVOR/cardiac surgery
• Ability to single scrub cardiac cases and seamlessly transition to the main OR when needed
• Experience with Cerner charting system is highly desirable

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques
• Skilled in cardiac surgery procedures and cardiovascular operating room protocols
• Comfortable with orthopedic, neuro, vascular, robotic, urology, general, and gynecological surgeries
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to thrive in high-pressure environments
• Proficient in electronic medical charting, specifically Cerner
