Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Family Birthing Center including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and OB
• Monitor mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Assist with deliveries, manage couplets, and care for newborns on IV antibiotics or short-term oxygen
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs and RTs to ensure safe deliveries
• Document all patient care in Cerner EMR with accuracy and efficiency
• Educate new parents on newborn care and recovery
• Respond quickly and independently in emergency situations

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CA or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of L&D experience
• STABLE certification preferred
• Strong emergency response skills and ability to work independently
• Charge experience accepted for supervisory references
• BSN not required - we welcome ADN and Diploma nurses

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Solid understanding of obstetric and neonatal care
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable floating between L&D and Mother-Baby units
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
