Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and confidence
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms, maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Take and mount dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Manage patient records and update treatment notes using dental software like Denticon
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver exceptional orthodontic care
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or willingness to become certified preferred
- Radiography (X-ray) certification in Maryland
- Previous orthodontic dental assistant experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
- Familiarity with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Attention to infection control and sterilization protocols
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
