Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and confidence
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms, maintaining a clean, safe environment
• Take and mount dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Manage patient records and update treatment notes using dental software like Denticon
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver exceptional orthodontic care

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or willingness to become certified preferred
• Radiography (X-ray) certification in Maryland
• Previous orthodontic dental assistant experience preferred
• BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Familiarity with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Attention to infection control and sterilization protocols
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
