Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for a variety of surgical cases
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during orthopedic, podiatry, pain management, breast, GYN, general surgery, and urology procedures
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure all instruments are accounted for throughout surgeries
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies efficiently
• Participate in call rotation to provide emergency surgical coverage, with a 30-minute response time
• Document and track case details accurately in the Cerner charting system

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of surgical tech experience in an operating room setting
• Strong orthopedic surgical experience is a must
• Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes
• Comfortable with floating to the Women's Center as needed
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and OR protocols
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical procedures, especially orthopedics
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with surgeons and nurses
• Adaptability to handle varying case loads and call shifts
