Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-level nursing care to cardiac ICU patients, including fresh open heart post-operative recovery
• Monitor telemetry and manage ventilator settings for critically ill patients
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments with precision and care
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to telemetry or med-surg units as needed to support the team
• Perform comprehensive assessments and document in Cerner EMR

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (or willing to obtain)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience with fresh open hearts and mixed ICU patients
• Ability to pass a proctored dysrhythmia test on day one (pass/fail)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac ICU nursing, including critical care and telemetry
• Proficiency with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Strong rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
